Wake the Dead
You've heard the phrase, "waking up the dead," right? Normally it's the kind of thing that old folks say about parties that are too loud. But on Dia de Los Muertos, you want to throw a party so epic that it actually does wake the dead. After all, the dead have been waiting all year for the holiday, so you'd better be in the celebration spirit, because you owe the deceased nothing less.
Of course, when the Day of the Dead holiday rolls around every year, it takes more than some spooky costumes to muster up the souls of the dead. There also needs to be their favorite foods, music, activities, and anything else they liked about being alive. Which totally makes sense, because what ghost is going to go through the trouble of returning to the land of the living for a party they will just be bored at? We owe them a good time for all of that effort, and all of the creepily styled decorations, skeletons, and skull-shaped candies around the festival will make help them feel right at home! Height 178 cm | Weight 100 kg | Size LargeThe costume is excellent, but the sizing is ... let's call it problematic. I put quite a bit of effort into doing the size measurements and getting that right. I bought a Large size, which according to the sizing chart should have been a fraction too big for me. When it arrived and I tried it on, it was instead a fraction too small and I wish I'd bought the larger size. I could still wear it, and it looked good, but it made for an uncomfortable night. The pants were very tight around my thighs (I have big legs), and I had to be very careful not to bend over the wrong way for fear I would rip them, but at the same time they were too long for me and scrunched at the bottom, it's not the kind of pants you want to cuff at the bottom if you can avoid it because of the fun featuring at the bottom. The jacket thankfully is not supposed to be closed at the front, because that never would have happened, but it sat more open than it should have and I had restricted movement of my arms and torso. The material of the costume is not at all stretchy, so only being a little bit too small really made it a problem and if it was any smaller I don't think I would have been able to wear it. The hat is too small for my head and made out of rigid material that meant there was no way I could get it on. Sizing issues aside, I really loved the costume. Would suit someone taller and skinnier than me (perhaps like the model in the photo).Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.Was this review helpful to you?
