Start or finish your decorating in skeletal style with these 5-inch Skeleton Hands. These simple molded plastic props are shaped in the form of a pair of bony hands from the wrist up. Everything is firmly fastened so you won't be missing any phalanges while you set up your scene. They work well with some of our skull decorations to depict a bony somebody rising from the grave, or you can have idle hands on their own, ready to work some wickedness.

These skeleton hands are fantastic!!!!!!! They are extremely well made. They are made of a rubbering hard almost silicone type plastic. They actually have a bit of weight to them which is brilliant. They are definitely not cheap plastic that could possibly crack and break over time. They are rigid so you can not bend the fingers to change their position. They were absolutely perfect for my big art project. I wanted to paint them and after some experimenting, the best way to paint these skeletal hands l found is as follows: preparing: 1st: hand rough the total surface area with a semi course sand paper (this will take the top shine off and create a rougher surface.) Don’t be scared to use a little pressure, the hands won’t break unless of course you are Superman. You want to make sure that the hands end up looking dull and feeling rough (this will allow the base coat (see step 2) to adhere much better). 2nd: use a good primer base (l found a great enamel primer base in a spray can at my local hardware store. Spray your hands with the primer and let them dry overnight (you will be tempted to start the top coats as soon as they’re dry, but l found that the longer you leave them, the better). If you want to spray them all over with the primer in one go, l would suggest tying one finger with thin crafting wire and then tie it to your clothesline and spray away (you can always touch up the area that had the wire around it afterwards, so the thinner wire… the better). 3rd: now you can begin your top coat colour (again keeping in mind that with each coat you should let dry for as long as possible for the best result). Yes it is a slow process, but if you rush it, you’ll find that your paint will end up chipping off easily. So if you want the best result, do the time and while you’re waiting, why not start another art project with some of the other fantastic items you can get from HalloweenCostumes.
